Seven Day Challenge - Day 7

Day 7: Every Day Emergency – “Why Didn’t you Ask for this Sooner?”

·         I have powdered eggs, powdered milk, but NO powdered butter!

·         I need to get powdered butter!

·         I would have made the Magic Mix Pudding from everydayfoodstorage.net

·         Need to find more recipes for this kind of challenge just in case.

·         Read all about it: http://foodstoragemadeeasy.net/2009/09/14/day-7-tuesday/

Seven Day Challenge - Day 6

Day 6: Diet Disaster – “Healthy lifestyle”

·         That’s the first thing I grab for a quick snack or lunch for the kids: chips, turkey hotdogs and juice! I’m burned out!

·         Breakfast – Oatmeal

·         Lunch – Cheese quesadillas (that’s what I had on-hand) although I had broccoli in the fridge but forgot  all about it

·         Dinner – White rice and chick peas

·         Dessert – No dessert at the time

·         Read all about it: http://foodstoragemadeeasy.net/2009/09/13/day-6-monday/

Seven Day Challenge - Day 5

Day 5: Natural Disaster – “Earthquake!”

·         Wow, another “week” without water and we are in trouble!

·         I have a car shovel but not in the vehicle, got to keep it in the vehicle!

·         I have a chest freezer full of food that I bought on a case lot sale on post, got to use it wisely.

·         Don’t have an online back up for documents, but I do have and online back up for photos. Those are priceless.

·         I only have one bank that take care of our checking, savings, 529 plan, auto/renter’s insurance that if I need any documents I can immediately get it online.

·         I carry my passwords in my Palm with a back up on my would-be-crushed external hard drive. LOL

·         All my genealogy research (my latest hobby 7 yrs in the making) on paper would be lost in case of any disaster and that would really upset me. Although I have a membership in Ancestry.com were I can access all my uploaded photographs of very important people, censuses and drafts registrations.

·         I don’t have a generator for a long time with no electricity. Hmm!

·         With no cash on hand and food spoiled in freezer and fridge we are in serious problem, although have plenty of can food we would have any access to them because the place would be quarantine?

Seven Day Challenge - Day 4

ay 4: Economic Crisis – “Money is Tight!”

·         I have (10) 5-gallon of water stored from Emergency Essentials that would probably last for 2-weeks, but not enough water if we are going to use them for doing dishes, toilet, etc.

·         We currently use internet cable and watch TV using a splitter and we get a couple of good channels (I doesn’t make any sense paying for 200 channels to only watch 5 of them) for $40/month.

·         Currently we don’t have telephone land line. We use Magic Jack for $20/yr.

·         We recently change our cellular plan for two lines: Everything Data Share 1500 Plan, Unlimited Nights for $129.99 plus taxes

·         In case of no electricity, we have plenty of board games.

·         In case of no electricity, still no portable burner!

·         I started making homemade bread like 7 months ago. We only buy store bought when we are traveling and for hot dogs.

Seven Day Challenge - Day 3

Day 3: Every Day Emergency – “Dinner Guests?”

·         What? Boss is vegan?

·         Appetizer: No vegetables on hand or couldn't come up with a recipe. So, no appetizer L

·         Dinner: Lentils Soup

·         Side dish: Homemade fresh Parker House rolls

·         Dessert: Sour cream pound cake (made with dehydrated eggs and powdered milk) with raspberries sauce and a homemade Latte ;)
