Seven Day Challenge - Day 1

I found out about this website and decided to participate in the Seven Day Challenge hosted by Food Storage Made Easy (http://foodstoragemadeeasy.NET).  September is the Emergency Awareness Month.  Here are the challenges and what I learned from it.  Was I prepared?

    Day 1: Natural Disaster – “It’s a Flood!”

    ·         Had a First Aid kit ready to go.

    ·         Didn’t have any kids’ clothes packed and ready to go. I was able to pack but for one day only. That was a setback. L

    ·         Had my emergency binder ready to go and with cash in it.

    ·         Had my 72 hours food ready to use.

    ·         Didn’t have a portable burner so that would be quite difficult if I had to used to heat food, another setback   L

    ·         Grabbed a blanket

    ·         Grab the pack of 24 bottles of water.

    ·         Didn’t have powdered milk at the time for the toddler.  L

    ·         We were not clear on where to meet with my husband during the “emergency”.

    ·         Vehicle had ¼ of gas in the tank, had to “run” to the gas station to fill up but the Unleaded pump was not working. Had to run to another gas station.  And I have an electronic message showing up in my vehicle that needed to change the engine oil soon.  Great!

    ·         Forgot to pack my external hard drives and laptop. Those would be ruined in case of a flood.

    ·         Of course, I grabbed my purse on my way out.
